January 19th, 2010

Fans, there’s so much to talk about in this week’s Commissioner’s Corner that I don’t even know where to begin!

The PWR show on January 16th was absolutely the craziest night in Pro Wrestling Rampage’s rich history. The ramifications will be felt for months to come!

First off, Luscious Rocky Reynolds, in an act of unadulterated rage (after he bested a game Nikki Valentino), and for no apparent reason, severely injured the knee of Lumberjack Leroux.  Lumberjack had to be rushed to the hospital, after Rocky placed Lumberjack’s leg inside of a steel folding chair, and brought all of his weight down on it, leaping from the top with a swanton bomb.  Most of the fans in attendance could hear the ‘snap’ of Lumberjacks leg; it was a horrifying moment.

And this action comes on the heel of Rocky breaking the wrist of Riot Squad security member Sam in December.  And attacking, from behind, in January, another Riot Squad member, Bud.

Something has to be done about the violent, uncontrolled fury which Rocky continues to unleash. And perhaps February is the month that it will happen:
Fans, PWR has signed WWE and ECW star “The Extreme Underdog” Colin Delaney to face Rocky Reynolds on Friday, February 19th, at the Cauley Auditorium.

Let’s hope that Colin can put Rocky in his place, and earn the respect of this sadistic monster.
Someone has to and soon!

Earlier in the night, Lumberjack and “Chairman of the Board” Jamie Scott lost their PWR Tag-Team Titles to the Foreign Legion (Sheik Muhammad Mustafa and Luis Diamante), after Scott was driven through a wooden table and placed in the modified Camel Clutch of the Sheik.

Jamie was severely injured in the match, hyper-extending his shoulder and inuring his lower back.

With both Scott and Lumberjack out of commission, Erie’s own Omega Aaron Draven and Fabulous John McChesney “stepped up” to challenge the Foreign Legion, for February’s PWR show.

Omega (who earlier retained his PWR Lake Erie Title against a valiant Marcus Knight and an energized Dorian Monroe in a Triple Threat Match) and Fabulous (who earlier pinned an exciting newcomer, the tenacious Scotty Turner of Canada) reformed their “Erie Elite” team to attempt to wrest the PWR Tag-Team title belts from the Sheik and Diamante…..

Will they succeed? Be at the Cauley Auditorium on Friday, February 19th, to find out!!!

PWR Heavyweight Champion Big Time Bill Collier and challenger “The Steel City Prodigy” Ryan Mitchell put on an absolutely amazing show; it is definitely an early candidate for match-of-the-year, going back and forth, near pin fall after near pin fall, with both men giving it their all and holding nothing back! It was truly a spectacular performance, as neither wrestler wanted to give in to the other.

However, unexpectedly, the powerhouse Ray Rowe charged in and took out both men with a brutal assault of pure frenzy!

All hell broke loose, all over the arena.  When it was finally, mercifully finished, all 3 combatants just wanted to destroy each other. And they will have the opportunity to do so, in a Triple Threat Match for the PWR Heavyweight Championship on Friday, February 19th!

This won’t be a wrestling match – it will be a war!

PWR Women’s Champion Angel Dust retained her title against the powerful and beautiful Brittany Force, in an extremely close match-up.

Angel Dust won when Sassy Stephie, at ringside, informed the ref that Brittany had cheated, causing the match to restart after Brittany thought she had beaten Angel Dust for the championship.

An enraged Brittany later attacked Stephie, and the two women brawled through the arena and outside on the streets of downtown Erie, until finally separated by security.

It’s definitely not over between these two competitors – there’s no love loss between either athlete!

And then, with Angel Dust still in the ring, savoring her hard-earned victory, a mysterious unknown female appeared in the ring behind Angel Dust. After a vicious powerbomb knocking Angel Dust out cold, this powerhouse of a female left stealing Angel Dust’s title belt!

Later, when she regained her senses, a devastated Angel Dust was beside herself. Fans, this one can only be resolved in the ring; And Angel Dust’s search for retribution will begin on Friday, February 19th, at the Cauley Auditorium.

Well, I have to admit, the Notorious Shane Taylor pulled one over on me.

J-Rocc, the Big Daddy of Destruction, was in a grueling match with Joe Rosa, when J-Rocc’s former nemesis, Shawn Blaze, came out to assist his friend Joe Rosa, and attacked J-Rocc.  A short time later, Shane Taylor agreed to be J-Rocc’s tag-team partner against Rosa and Blaze, in an impromptu tag-team fight.  It was a superb match, in which J-Rocc and Notorious got the duke.  But as the two were celebrating in the ring, Shane suddenly turned on his former partner and attacked him, mercifully beating J-Rocc for what seemed like forever.

It was a shocking moment! And if I know J-Rocc, that deed will not go unpunished!

I expect that J-Rocc’s ‘payback attempts’ against his former best friend will begin on Friday, February 19th. Fans, you have got to be there to witness this one…..

I’d bet the farm that this battle will be truly awesome!  Let the hostilities commence!!!

The 2009 Pro Wrestling Rampage PoWeR Awards [the “RAMMIES”} were given out on January 16th, based on the fans on-line voting in November and December.  I would like to thank the many hundreds of fans who responded.  I would also like to thank the incredible Sassy Stephie, who co-hosted the ceremony with me and did an outstanding job.

  • In a very close vote, the Fabulous John McChesney won for “Most Popular PWR Wrestler” (with Omega Aaron Draven second).
  • In a landslide, Rocky Reynolds won for “Most Hated PWR Wrestler.”
  • In a unique twist, the winner for “PWR Match of the Year” was the ‘Body Bag Match’ between Rocky and John.  (Also receiving significant votes was the ‘Anything Goes Match’ between Big Time Bill Collier and The Necro Butcher, and ‘War Games 2009.’)
  • In another tight race, Sassy Stephie won for “PWR Woman Wrestler of the Year” (barely beating Angel Dust)
  • And finally, also in a very close vote, the winner for “PWR Wrestler of the Year” was Big Time Bill Collier

Unfortunately, during the award ceremony, Rocky Reynolds took it upon himself to berate the fans of PWR, and to smash his trophy all over the ring, stomping on it.

Fans, I will never be able to figure Rocky out.  The man has all the talent in the world, but seems hell-bent on destruction and carnage!

Fans, the support staff of Pro Wrestling Rampage is absolutely remarkable.

Without Team Rampage, we would not be able to bring you the exciting, high caliber shows that we do. This month, I’d like to single out our referees, Nate Pierce, Rico Cruz, and Scotty Roberts, who do a stupendous job each month, often taking undeserved punishment, all in order to ensure that you, the fans, get to watch a great show every time!

Also, I want to recognize the PWR Riot Squad, who have the thankless job of attempting to keep things under control; if you’ve ever attended a PWR event, you’ll understand how difficult that task can be!

Well, I just want to ‘tip my hat’ to the Riot Squad (who often seem to bear the brunt of unprovoked attacks) and thank them for their sacrifice and professionalism – your efforts are appreciated!
