December 7th, 2009

Fans,

I’m really getting excited about this Saturday’s PWR Event at the Cauley Auditorium in Erie.
It’s going to be a great show, with exciting matches and quality entertainment.
If you liked last month’s PWR show, you absolutely need to be at the Cauley on Saturday, December 12th, at 7:30pm.

You won’t be disappointed, I promise!

I’m definitely looking forward to the match between Erie’s own “Omega” Aaron Draven and “The Shooting Star,” Marcus Knight, for the PWR Lake Erie Title.

Therese two combatants are both amazing athletes who have yet to reach their peak in the wrestling business. Omega won the championship last month against Sheik Mustafa, after a grueling 6-man “wild scramble match’ at the PWR Anniversary Show.

Those in attendance saw the fight come down to two gifted competitors:  Draven and Knight…… And what a show these young men put on! It was move after move, assault after assault, aerial dive after aerial dive; it was a remarkable performance from wrestlers.

And afterward, since it was so close an outcome, Omega felt compelled to offer Knight the first opportunity to wrest the Lake Erie Title away – Wow, talk about sportsmanship!

That’s one of the reasons that this match is so special.  There hasn’t been the usual ‘trash talking’ that goes on prior to a fight.  Both of these PWR superstars respect each other, and respect what the championship means.  I know that they’re each going to give their all this Saturday, and simply astound us with their matt ability.

And that means that we, the fans, are going to be true winners on December 12th! I can’t wait for this one!!!

I’ve known Jamie Scott for many years, but he won’t tell even me who his mystery partner is for this Saturday’s match against Real Smooth for the PWR Tag-Team titles.

Jamie is still hopping mad that Real Smooth betrayed him, throwing away years of friendship, just for The Sheik’s offer of money and title opportunities.  And as most of you are aware, Jamie suffered a separated shoulder during the War Games steel-cage match, when the Sheik put him in a modified Camel Clutch for almost 5 minutes, just wrenching the bones in his shoulder apart, refusing to let go of the hold!

Well, those of you in attendance last month saw that Jamie is finally healed, as he attacked Real Smooth, after their match with The Bone Crushers.  Jamie got a small measure of retribution then, but he told me last night that it’s not enough.  Jamie said that the anger he still feels is “boiling over inside” of him, and the only way that he can hurt Real Smooth enough is to take away their gold.

Well, fans, Jamie gets that opportunity on December 12th, when he (along with a Mystery Partner) face Real Smooth for the PWR Tag-Team Titles. You absolutely have to be there for this one. Don’t expect many wrestling holds – It’ll be pure carnage!

I recently had the opportunity to interview PWR Heavyweight Champion “Big Time” Bill Collier at his home in Johnstown, PA.  He was so excited about winning back the PWR Championship; I’ve never seen him so happy!

Bill told me that he’ll never, ever disappoint the fans of PWR by losing the belt again, and said that “the only reason I was able to defeat Notorious Shane Taylor this time was because of the fans.  They were behind me so much.  I could feel their energy surging, and used it to pin Shane.”

Bill can’t wait until Saturday to defend his re-won championship for the first time…..
But I haven’t told him who his opponent is yet.  And he won’t know until just before his fight.

Bill asked me for the ‘best available athlete” – someone who is “deserving of the match and will give the fans a great performance.”  Well, Bill, be careful what you wish for:

On December 12th, Big Time Bill Collier will defend his PWR Heavyweight Championship against someone who is hungry for gold, had amazing ability, and has never faced Bill before.
I can’t wait!  This will be special!

Angel Dust is so excited about finally winning her first solo title in PWR.  As you’re aware, last month, she beat both Sassy Stephie and Brittany Force in a “Triple Threat Match” to win the PWR Women’s Championship.

It’s been a long time coming for Angel, who’s had many awesome, exciting matches in PWR (including a legendary feud with Sexy Shawn Blaze).  Angel Dust got her first taste of gold, when she teamed with Sassy Stephie to win the PWR Tag-Team Titles earlier in the year.

And now, she’s the Ladies Champion! Congrats, Angel Dust – well done!

Finally,
PWR would like extend our condolences to the family of wrestler Eki Fatu (better known as Umaga in the WWE).  Fatu died from a heart attack on Friday, 4th of December.  He was 36 years old.  Fatu was part of a large Soman wrestling family, which included his Uncles (Afa and Sika, the Wild Samoans) and cousin (Dwayne Johnson, The Rock), among many others.

For those of you unaware or might not remember, Umaga wrestled PWR’s Fabulous John McChesney on Raw a couple of years ago. Thank you for giving one of our own such a classy opportunity in front of the wrestling world.

Our prayers and thoughts are with Fatu’s family.

Until next time,
“Let’s Keep It In The Ring”
Commissioner Roberts
