WAR GAMES!
That’s all everyone seems to be talking about right now.
Wherever I go, that’s what I hear…..
“Who do you think will win?”
“What do you think will happen?”
This past Tuesday, while I was getting a haircut, Joey (a young fan who normally sits in the second row on the west side of the auditorium) came up to me, asking about War Games. He was so excited about the show; he couldn’t wait for Saturday to get here.
On Wednesday, while shopping at Kmart, another fan walked by me, smiled, and shouted “War Games, wooooooooooooooo!” (I wonder what store security was thinking at that moment.)
On Friday night, I was downtown with a few friends…. At least 10 people came up to me, talking about War Games 2009.
It’s truly amazing!
And I have to admit, I’ve caught the “War Games” fever, too.
10 men, forced to battle inside an unforgiving 18 foot high steel cage –
Who will survive?
We’ll all find out this Saturday Night (September 26th), at 7:30pm, at the Cauley Auditorium on East 4th Street.
Like Joey, I just can’t wait!

I recently had the occasion to attend a ‘team training session’ with The Sheik, The Bone Crushers, Ivan Radsky, and Luis Diamante, as they prepared for this Saturday Night’s WAR GAMES……
I took the opportunity to interview the team, concerning their expectations for War Games 2009. Below is an excerpt from that interview:
[NOTE: The Sheik’s comments were translated through his personal interpreter.]
Commissioner: “So just how will The Foreign Legion prevail at War Games?”
Sheik: “Do not call us that! That is a name given to us by that infidel Jamie Scott!”
Commissioner: “Understood. So why do you think that your team will emerge victorious this Saturday?”
Sheik: “Because we smarter than them, bigger than them, tougher than them, and we are righteous in our cause!”
Radsky: “There is no way that this so-called ‘American Coalition’ will survive even 10 minutes in a cage with us. We will dominate.’
Commissioner: “I can see it both ways. Each team has strength and weaknesses. What’s your game plan for War Games?”
Sheik: “We have no weaknesses! We have only pain, for our opponents. They will suffer as no wrestlers have ever suffered before.”
Commissioner: “I see. But why do you believe that you will win that easy? I think the Coalition has experience on their side, don’t they?”
Diamante: “We will dominate from the opening moments! One on one, we’re each superior. I will destroy that foolish Omega. The Winter Soldier will decapitate Lumberjack, once and for all. Scott is no match for the brilliance of The Sheik. And The Bone Crushers will once again bury Real Smooth!”
Sheik: “But it’s as a team that we will show the world our ability to rule in the ring. Scott [spit] and his forces can’t even get along. They are divided. We are united in our cause.”
Commissioner: “So you think this match will be a short one?”
Bone Crusher Sway: “No! It will be long and horrible for Real Smooth.” [Smiling.]
Bone Crusher Mandingo: “We will torture them until they submit. And even then, we will not stop.”
Sheik: “All of the infidels will suffer greatly at our hands!”
Fans, War Games 2009 will likely be the most interesting match in PWR history…..

I’m starting to feel sorry for The Fabulous John McChesney. Thanks to a binding agreement with Luscious Rocky Reynolds, John has to face “The Big Rig” Brodie Lee on Saturday, September 26th. Brodie is an animal! He’s excitable, strong, tenacious, huge, and loves to hurt people! It’s his first appearance ever in Erie, and I’m sure that he wants to make a mark with PWR!
John, there’ve been times that you and I haven’t always seen eye-to-eye in the past, but I’m asking you to be extra careful this Saturday. I’ve heard rumors that Reynolds has put a “bounty” on you, and that Brodie wants to be the one to end your career!
Brodie is a maniac in the ring – this will be a wild fight!

Saturday’s show is shaping up to be a classic. Not only are the above listed events scheduled, but the 26th will mark Big Time Bill Collier’s first appearance since losing the PWR Heavyweight Championship. Bill spent 16 months as reigning PWR Champ; how will he react on Saturday?
And this will be The Notorious Shane Taylor’s first show as the bearer of the PWR Title. What will he do, to demonstrate that he’s a deserving champion? There’s just so much going on! This is truly a show to make certain that you attend.

Finally, I’ve been reaching out to J-Rocc, but he hasn’t returned my calls.
Fans, I don’t know ‘which’ J-Rocc we’ll see on Saturday, or what his plans are.
I know that there is some bad blood with Sexy Shawn Blaze (and rightfully so, after Blaze attacked him last month). I know that J-Rocc’s “falling out” with Shane Taylor has been building up for some time – the two just seem to hate each other, right now.
Anything could happen in September….. I’m just planning on staying out of the way!
