With the phrase “In September, it’s War!” the stage is set for PWR War Games 2009.
This year’s “War Games” match was actually instigated by Lumberjack Leroux and Chairman of the Board Jamie Scott, after they had been pummeled, beaten, and left bloody by the Foreign Legion [The Sheik, The Bone Crushers, Luis Diamante, and Ivan Radsky], following the conclusion of the Russian Chain Match between Lumberjack and Radsky, at July’s Pro Wrestling Rampage event.
In an exclusive interview with PWR Press, The Sheik (through his interpreter) said that the ‘beat down’ which Lumberjack and Scott received was “justified” as payback for an earlier incident in which Scott had struck The Sheik with a microphone, leaving him unconscious. The Sheik also said that he resents the fact that Scott has been “interfering” in The Sheik’s affairs, often banning his Foreign Legion from ringside. And The Sheik says that he still hasn’t forgiven Lumberjack for actually “laying his filthy, heathen hands” on The Sheik during their brutal 2nd round tournament match in June, for the Lake Erie Championship. “He is as stupid as the fans of PWR are,” said The Sheik. “He should have just taken ‘the briefcase,’ like Notorious did.”
Due to all the vicious attacks which have been occurring, I indeed sanctioned Erie’s first ever “5 on 5” War Games Rules Match, inside an 18 foot high Steel Cage, to take place on September 26th, at the Cauley Auditorium (in Erie, PA). The combatants will enter the cage one by one, and the melee will ensue.
It will be: The Sheik (Team Captain), Bone Crusher Mandingo, Bone Crusher Sway, Luis Diamante, and The Winter Soldier, Ivan Radsky versus Co-Captains Lumberjack Leroux and Jamie Scott, with three teammates they named at the August 22nd PWR Event in Erie: Omega and both members of the former Tag-Team Champions Real Smooth.
The entire wrestling world is watching this one! Make sure that you are in attendance for this once-in-a-lifetime match. (And let your friends know about it, too.) War Games 2009 is not to be missed!

It’s not too early to be thinking about the special PWR November ‘Anniversary’ Show, to take place on Saturday, November 21st, 2009. Pro Wrestling Rampage will be celebrating their second year of non-stop action in a big way! “We’re fixin’ to pull out all the stops,” exclaimed PWR Chairman of the Board Jamie Scott. Fans, make sure that you reserve the day for this one!

In case you missed it, the incredible Necro Butcher (who was featured prominently in the movie “The Wrestler”) competed at the August 22nd show, in a wild match against Big Time Bill Collier; those in attendance will be talking about this amazing, brutal, and bloody fight for years to come! I’ve never seen anything like it, as the two battled all over the arena, through the restrooms, and in the ring. Fans, you never know what you’re going to miss out on if you skip a PWR show! Even after a tough felt loss, an incoherent & smiling Necro said he “really enjoyed” the match and loves coming back to Erie because “PWR has the best competition that the tri-state area” – Fans, you never know when Necro will just show up to fight!

Speaking of Big Time Bill Collier, on a personal note, I want to thank Bill for representing PWR superbly as the Champion for the past 15 months. Bill is the first-ever PWR Heavyweight Champion, winning the title in May of 2008. Bill was always classy and professional, never ducked an opponent, gave his all in each match, and really loves the PWR fans. As most of you know, Bill lost the title in August to the Notorious Shane Taylor, in a hard-fought battle. Despite the advice of many, at the November show, Bill first fought The Necro Butcher in a “No DQ, anything goes” bout, and then immediately had to face the 350 pound behemoth Shane Taylor for the title! Bill didn’t want to disappoint the fans, so he agreed to both matches. However, now it’s time for Shane Taylor to shine….. I, for one, know absolutely nothing about the new champion, and look forward to seeing what he’ll do with the Heavyweight Title.

PWR wants to thank Bull Shooters Bar & Grill (located at 2216 on East Lake Road in Erie) for their support of PWR. Bull Shooters is a great place to relax and enjoy PPV events at, including WWE shows and UFC Events. They also feature live bands and Karaoke. And the best part is…. They’re all wrestling fans at Bull Shooters! Check them out sometime. Tell ‘em “The Commish sent ya.”
Also, PWR wants to recognize Rob Taylor of Eri Jams, Erie’s premiere online entertainment magazine, for his great coverage of PWR wrestling in Erie. Rob is a big fan of Pro Wrestling Rampage, who attends every show. Check out his reviews at www.myspace.com/erijams.

Is anyone else wondering what was going on with “Genocide” at the August PWR show?
At first, it was the Fabulous John McChesney as Genocide, violating his Erie County restraining order by attacking Luscious Rocky Reynolds. Then, it was the surprise return of Sexy Shawn Blaze to PWR, dressed as Genocide, assaulting J-Rocc (who was acting as a ref in the main event officially appointed by myself due to the circumstances at hand)……
My office will definitely investigate this mystery to the fullest.

I’ve been receiving email after email from fans about the unexpected ‘dissention’ that the American Coalition seemed to exhibit, after Jamie Scott, Omega, and Lumberjack lost to The Foreign Legion (The Sheik, Luis Diamante, and Ivan Radsky) at the August PWR show. There was yelling and shoving, with Omega, Scott, and Lumberjack blaming each other for the loss. Whatever the reason, The Foreign Legion earned the “man advantage” at War Games 2009, with this victory.

Congratulations to Sassy Steph and Angel Dust, for once again retaining their PWR Tag-Team Titles in August. No one believed that these two “fan favorites” would keep the belts this long, but they’ve faced every opponent who’ve challenged them, and emerged victorious. I always look forward to seeing Sassy and Angel in action; their matches are high quality, and the action is hard hitting – they really seem to mesh as a unit. I wonder how long they can keep it going?

Fans, I have no idea what will happen with the astonishing feud between Luscious Rocky Reynolds and the Fabulous John McChesney. In all my years associated with professional wrestling, this situation has surpassed everything else I’ve seen. You can actually feel the “heat” between the two; sometimes it’s downright scary to be around them. All they want to do is hurt each other. Talk about “grudge matches”… well, this one tops them all! And now, with the restraining order brought into play, who knows what will happen? When will the ‘bad blood’ end? Right now, I can tell you that there’s open warfare between these two!

I still don’t know if I made the right decision, selling 50% of PWR to The Sheik. We definitely needed the influx of capital, but I know that Chairman of the Board Jamie Scott thinks I made a serious error in judgment; only time will tell, I guess. One positive thing that’s come out of this situation is the fact that we’ve been able to maintain our low prices at PWR – nothing’s been raised in over a year! (Not many businesses can say that nowadays.) However, my main concern with this whole process was that during the purchase negotiations, The Sheik never, ever, mentioned that he was interested in actually competing in PWR…. I thought he was just a wealthy businessman, who wanted his own wrestling promotion. He kept his desire to wrestle a secret, and that bothers me. What else is The Sheik hiding?

One of the most thankless (yet most important) positions in PWR is that of the Referee. It’s a difficult job, with little reward. And many, many injuries can occur (even when the Ref is extremely careful). I know that sometimes the referee may seem to make a mistake, but I have to tell you, things are so fast-paced in the ring; it’s difficult to keep on top of everything. I can tell you first hand, when refereeing, it seems like the action is going a million miles per hour. Please, when you see one of our quality PWR Referees, take the time to thank them for their sacrifice and dedication. I know that they’ll appreciate it.

Fans, make sure you check out the new merchandise at the PWR live events. You will find great, one-of-a-kind, collectable items not available anywhere else. (Did everyone see the awesome “Music of PWR” CD which is now available, for example?) Thank you for continuing to support PWR and your favorite wrestlers! Your patronage is definitely appreciated.
Additionally, please let your friends know about PWR. We’re presenting exciting & entertaining shows at the Cauley Auditorium each month, and we want to continue. Be sure to invite as many people as you can (especially ‘first-timers’ who’ve never been to PWR). Most fans who come once want to return to every show! Your assistance is greatly appreciated – let’s fill the auditorium and support your PWR wrestlers!!!

Finally, I want to spotlight the actions of one of PWR’s premiere wrestlers: Lumberjack Leroux.
In June, most of you probably saw the despicable actions of The Sheik, Luis Diamante, and Ivan Radsky, concerning Lumberjack….. They cut off much of Lumberjack’s hair after a match! As you’re aware, I sanctioned a “Russian Chain Match” in July between Lumberjack and Radsky, at Lumberjack’s request – Those in attendance saw a remarkable, savage, bloody dual between the two, in which Lumberjack got a measure of revenge.
However, that’s not the reason I’m writing – Usually, I try to remain impartial, but I’ve got to tell you, I was rooting for Lumberjack. After what happened in June, Lumberjack (who’s a really nice guy) managed to find a way to make some good out of the situation; he donated his shaved hair to “Locks of Love.” Now there’s a man to cheer for!
Until next time,
“Let’s keep it in the Ring”
PWR Commissioner Roberts
