New Commissioner’s Corner! 1-17-2012

COMMISSIONER’S CORNER

Fans,

Thanks to those of you who braved the inclement weather and helped PWR “ring” in the New Year at the Saga Club on January 14th.

It was a large and boisterous crowd who saw an incredible Pro Wrestling Rampage show!

PWR certainly didn’t “drop the ball” to start 2012. And we will continue pushing the envelope in the coming months –

Make your plans NOW to attend EVERY Pro Wrestling Rampage event this year; you won’t be sorry!

I’ve used words like chaos and carnage in the past fans, but nothing can describe the fast-paced, hard-hitting action which took place in January.

Wow!  What an amazing show!

First up was an astonishing 6-man tag-team match.  On one side, there was mat technician Brandon Thurston teaming with Those Guys (Kevin Bennett and Brett Mednick), led by the ‘Manager to the Stars’ Agent DeVille.  Their opponents were the unusual combination of Jimi the Hippie, James Santel, and the Fabulous John ‘Big League’ McChesney, with the Scintillating Jamie Scott in their corner.

What a wild, crowd-pleasing match, which saw as much activity outside the ring, as inside!

This was a real mêlée, fans, with extraordinary feats of athleticism abounding everywhere!

In the end, the “J” Team (Jimi, James, John, and Jamie) got the hard-earned duke.

But fans, as John was leaving the ring area, he was brutally attacked from behind by Big Time Bill Collier, who savagely used a chair to knock Big League unconscious.  Then, Bill did further damage to the prone McChesney’s back and neck, by placing him in the Crippler Cross Face.

Obviously, this unholy “thing” between John and Bill is not over.

I certainly will fine Bill for his unwarranted actions, but we have to find a way to end this vicious feud between these two superstars of PWR, once and for all!

This butchery can not continue!

Next up was something I never thought I’d see in professional wrestling: A “Pick Your Poison” DANCE OFF!

That’s right, fans; once again PWR gives you something you won’t see anywhere else!

It seems that the ‘Man Among Men’ Lumberjack Leroux wanted to embarrass the “Black Sheep” Benett Cole, and get inside his head a little more, before their scheduled Lake Erie Championship Match in Girard, PA on Saturday, February 11th.  Lumberjack forced Cole to compete in a ‘Dance Challenge’ against PWR Executive Board Member “Hollywood” Raul “La Bamba” Pervis. And Lumberjack got to select the songs which Benett had to dance to!

Believe-you-me, everyone in attendance had some fun at the expense of Benett Cole!  (Can you say “It’s Raining Men” fans?)

By your reactions fans, “Hollywood” Raul “La Bamba” Pervis was declared the dance winner.

Unfortunately, things took a downwards turn afterwards, when that rabid feces who goes by the name of Scotty Roberts tricked both Jamie Scott and James Santel into an ambush, in which the monstrous, unstoppable Bone Crushers (Sway and Mandingo) destroyed both Santel and Scott, sending a powerful message about their upcoming “Loser leaves PWR” match on Saturday, February 11th, at the St. John’s Convention Center in Girard, PA.

Business picked up, however, when newly signed #1 draft choice Joe Rosa, the V.I.P. of professional wrestling, took on the talented and charismatic veteran of the ring, the Sexy Shawn Blaze, in singles competition.

The fans of PWR got to take their first extended look at the newcomer.  And Rosa certainly was impressive.

Despite his natural arrogance, Rosa got the job done in quality fashion against the extremely tough Blaze.

And then, after the fight, Rosa had a verbal ‘face off’ with his nemesis, PWR Heavyweight Champion Omega Aaron Draven, as the two exchanged heated words and jabs at each other.

Fans, what’s this all about?  Why does Rosa have a “mad on” about Omega?  What exactly is behind this venom?

Then, to make matters worse, Rocky Reynolds suddenly came out, and disrespected the crowd and new champion Omega, picking up where Rosa left off.

When will the taunting stop?

But then, to end the first half, we had a slobberknocker of a fascinating fight:

ACES HIGH (the “Spotlight” Marcus Knight and Andre Kannan Alexander) versus the CLEVELAND MAFIA (the “Notorious” Shane Taylor and the “Big Daddy of Destruction” J-Rocc), for the PWR Tag-Team Championship!

Man o man, what a great match! The thrilling action was non-stop, as the ebb & flow of the bout went back and forth, with near fall after near fall.

The champions, Marcus and AKA, showed their gumption, staying neck-and-neck with the bigger, stronger, more experienced team of Shane and J-Rocc.

But in the end, the ring skills and cunning of the Cleveland Mafia (along with some able “outside assistance” from that jezebel of wrestling, the “Vixen” Dylan, who manages the Cleveland team) proved too much to deal with, and now we have new tag-team champions in PWR!

I want to tip my hat to AKA and Marcus, who had an extended run as champions, and gamely took on all comers.

But I have to ask, is there anyone, ANYONE, in all of professional wrestling, who can take on the Cleveland Mafia, and hope to win?  Can anyone even survive being in the ring with this stunning tag-team?

Perhaps we’ll find out in February, on Saturday the 11th.

The second half of the show opened with simply the most enigmatic and gifted female wrestler in the business, Brittany Force, as she faced newcomer to PWR, Bobinette.  The extremely athletic Force quickly took control of the match, but Bobinette surprised many in the audience with her technical abilities and ring prowess.  However, Brittany eventually ‘figured out’ the stealthy Bobinette and got the pinfall victory.

But then, an enraged Sara Feeney, whom Brittany had defeated last month, charged to the ring, and began pounding on Force, mercilessly.  Then, Bobinette joined in, as the two female grapplers used the numbers game to take it to Brittany.  Eventually, a furious Force managed to fight off the pair, who then scampered away, laughing.

Fans, I have to ask – was this horrific activity pre-planned?  Is there a vile pact between Bobinette and Sara, against Brittany?

If so, I wonder what Brittany’s response will be?  If I know Brittany, I would bet that we’ll find out her thoughts on Saturday, February 11th.

The teed off ‘Black Sheep’ Benett Cole wasted no time in setting up his “Pick Your Poison” match for Lumberjack.

Leroux had to face the Big Time onslaught of Bill Collier!

It was a tremendous brawl, as both men, the powerful Lumberjack and the potent Collier, pounded on each other, with blows so strong you could feel them in the 5th row!

But then, before anything was settled, Cole (who was watching from ringside) jumped into the ring, working with Bill, to beat down Lumberjack, trying to destroy him.

Cole’s action caused a disqualification, but the damage may have already been done.

I have to ask, can Lumberjack recover in time for his Lake Erie Championship match on the 11th of February, in Girard?

Finally, we came to main event time:  The current PWR Heavyweight Champion “Omega” Aaron Draven versus the former PWR Champion “Luscious” Rocky Reynolds.

And it almost didn’t happen!  Before the match began, when Omega did a fan-pleasing flip off the top rope, he landed awkwardly, and tweaked his knee.  By all rights, the fight should have been stopped; there’s no way Aaron should have continued.  But Rocky immediately attacked Omega, and really took it to the new champion.

Fans, if I had to judge this bout, it would have gone to Rocky ‘on points’ by far – he truly dominated the match, taking advantage of Omega’s leg injury, working him over.

There were times I considered stopping the match, watching Aaron writhing in pain, as Rocky systematically took him apart.

But Omega has the true heart of a warrior, and battled through the adversity.  When he saw an opportunity, Aaron took it, and got a quick roll-up victory.

Simply amazing! What a great title match. Both of these young men should be proud!

Then, after, as Omega tried to celebrate his hard-fought victory, despite the immense pain he was in, Mr. V.I.P. Joe Rosa made a return trip to the ring, and began pounding on Aaron, once again showing his disdain for the Champion.

However, the Fabulous John McChesney, not yet fully recovered from his earlier injury, attempted to intervene.

But then all hell broke loose.

A furious Big Time Bill Collier came out and once more attacked John.  And he brought Shane Taylor and Black Sheep with him!

What kind of ‘arrangement’ was made between these three behemoths!  I’ve never seen such as thing, as they ‘joined forces’ to attack John together.  Eventually, Jimi the Hippie managed to help get John to safety.

Could it be that Bill, Shane, and Cole are all mad about John’s opportunity next month, on Saturday the 11th of February, against Omega, for the PWR Heavyweight Championship?

Were they sending a message to John that, despite the Fabulous Ones promise to the great fans of Pro Wrestling Rampage that he would win the Championship by the end of 2012, there’s no way that they will allow that to happen?  Are Bill, Shane, and Cole unified to stop John from getting the Championship, no matter what?

Wow.  Stay tuned fans!

Speaking of John McChesney:
Yes, fans, it’s true.  The match which you’ve been requesting for years will finally occur next month, on Saturday, February 11th, at the St. John’s Conference Center in Girard, PA:  The “Omega” Aaron Draven versus the “Fabulous” John ‘Big League’ McChesney, for the PWR Heavyweight Championship!

And just to make sure that there is absolutely no outside interference, the extravaganza will take place inside a 15 foot high Steel Cage!

Finally, the two members of the Erie Elite, former tag-team partners, will face each other, one-on-one, for the most prestigious prize in professional wrestling – the PWR Heavyweight Championship!

Will John win his first Heavyweight Championship in PWR?  Or will Aaron keep his hot streak going, and subdue the Fabulous One?

And who exactly does the steel cage format favor?

This will be a match for the ages, fans. Get your front row tickets now!

Speaking of Steel Cage Matches, on the 11th of February, in Girard, the Lake Erie Championship will also be decided inside the 15 feet walls of twisted metal, where no mercy is ever shown, and your only friend is pain.

That’s right; the “Black Sheep” Benett Cole will have to defend his Lake Erie Championship, one final time, against fan-favorite Lumberjack Leroux, inside the four walls of cruel steel!

No matter what happens, this will be the last opportunity for Lumberjack to win the championship he covets so much, and has worked so hard for.

Can he do it, fans?

I can tell you that Cole is so confident that he’ll retain the Championship in February that he’s still planning on completing his press junket tour for “The Warrior” (the Hollywood action movie in which Cole is featured prominently).  In fact, Cole expects to receive his Academy Award nomination notice shortly, for Best Supporting Actor!  And indeed, there has been a lot of Oscar buzz recently about his performance in that movie.

But I have to ask – Is Benett taking Lumberjack too lightly?

We’ll see on Saturday, the 11th, fans.  Be there!

Fans, why not keep the theme going?

As those of you who attended the January PWR show know, the Bone Crushers accepted the challenge of Jamie Scott and James Santel for a “Loser Leaves PWR” match in February.  In fact, their disturbed and unbalanced manager Scotty Roberts had it written in bold letters on his dirty, filthy, sweaty, stinky undershirt  – “We accept!”  Really, Scotty?  Really?

But be that as it may, I’ve officially sanctioned this tag-team grudge bout as the third Steel Cage Match of the night!

Well, I never thought it would come down this.  The immovable Bone Crushers, perhaps the most unique and evil tag-team in the history of professional wrestling, will face the emerging talent of James Santel and the ring guile of Jamie Scott, one final time.  But as everyone knows, the Bone Crushers have won the previous 5 encounters.  I don’t know what makes Scott & Santel think this time will be any different?

They will be locked inside the 15 foot high monstrous structure of unforgiving steel, with the ravaging animals known as the Bone Crushers!

I can’t even begin to contemplate a PWR without Jamie Scott or James Santel around, let alone accept it; but I can’t figure a strategy in which they can beat the Bone Crushers, either!

Fans, whatever you do, ensure that you are in attendance on Saturday, February 11th, in Girard, for this match!!!

Will it be the last time we see Jamie Scott & James Santel?  Or will it be the final appearance of the Bone Crushers?

Truly, February 11th at St. John’s in Girard will be a PWR SUPER SHOW!
Well, that’s it for this edition, fans.

I’ll have much more information and updates in a week or so.

Ensure that you keep checking back.

Until then,

“Let’s Keep It In The Ring!”
Commissioner Mike Roberts
